Fall Harvest Festival Returns to Millrace Park
Save the date — the annual Fall Harvest Festival returns to Millrace Park this October, with food trucks, live music, and a pumpkin patch for the kids.
Read MoreFounded along the banks of Alder Creek in the early 1800s, Alderwyn began as a small mill settlement where farmers and merchants crossed the Old Toll Bridge on their way to neighboring towns. The creek powered the town’s first mill, while St. Aldric’s Chapel became a gathering place for the growing community.
By the late 1800s, Alderwyn had developed around its town square, where the Clock Tower was built and quickly became the community’s most recognizable landmark. Tree-lined streets, small shops, and homes gradually grew around the historic center.
Today, Alderwyn remains proud of its riverside roots. Millrace Park follows part of the original mill waterway, the Old Toll Bridge still carries foot traffic across Alder Creek, and generations of residents continue to preserve the places and stories that shaped the town.
Alderwyn has grown, but its character remains the same: a town where history, community, and home are never far apart.
