1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or otherwise using School Circle Network (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

School Circle Network is a community platform for school Parent-Teacher Organizations, parents, teachers, school and district staff, and local businesses that support schools. Features include school/PTO/district pages, a community forum, a business directory, events, membership and donation collection, supply lists, and photo/video galleries. Not every feature is available on every installation — the site operator decides which features are enabled.

3. Eligibility & Account Registration

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Some roles (PTO Officer, School Manager, Business Owner, etc.) may require approval by a school, PTO, or site administrator before taking effect.

4. Organizational Content

School, PTO, and district pages, along with any custom tabs, news posts, board/department listings, and Media galleries shown on them, are managed by the volunteers or staff granted that role. School Circle Network does not independently verify the accuracy of organization-submitted content and is not responsible for it, though we may remove content that violates these Terms.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Post content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else's rights;
• Impersonate any person or organization, or misrepresent your affiliation with a school, PTO, district, or business;
• Upload or link to content depicting, identifying, or targeting a child in a way that violates our Privacy Policy's children's-privacy commitments;
• Send spam, or use the platform's contact or messaging features for unsolicited commercial messages;
• Attempt to access another member's account, scrape the site, or interfere with its normal operation or security;
• Upload malicious code or attempt to circumvent any access, rate-limiting, or anti-spam control.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, remove violating content, and — where required by law or a valid request — cooperate with authorities.

6. User-Generated Content & License

You retain ownership of the content you post (photos, posts, reviews, listings, etc.). By posting it, you grant School Circle Network a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service (for example, showing your event on a school's public calendar). You represent that you have the right to post the content you submit, including any photo you upload.

7. Business Directory & Promotions

Businesses listed on School Circle Network are independent third parties, not affiliated with or endorsed by School Circle Network unless explicitly stated. Business owners are solely responsible for the accuracy of their listings, promotions, and any offers made to members. We are not a party to any transaction between a member and a listed business.

8. Payments & Donations

Where a PTO accepts memberships or donations through the Service, payment is processed entirely by Stripe and/or PayPal on their own secure platforms — School Circle Network never handles your card details directly. Membership terms, donation use, and refund requests are set and handled by the PTO or organizer collecting the funds, not by School Circle Network; contact that PTO directly for refund or billing questions. School Circle Network is not a financial institution and does not guarantee any transaction.

9. Children and Students

The Service is intended for adults (parents, guardians, teachers, and staff). It is not directed at children, and no child may create their own account. Any use of the Service in connection with a minor (for example, adding a student to your account, or a minor benefiting from a supply list or event) must be through a parent or guardian's own account, at that adult's direction and consent.

10. Embedded Third-Party Content

Media galleries may include embedded videos or posts from YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok, X/Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook, added by a school/PTO/district manager. That content belongs to and is governed by the terms of the third-party platform hosting it; School Circle Network does not host, control, or endorse it.

11. Intellectual Property

The School Circle Network name, logo, and platform design (excluding content posted by members and organizations) are the property of the site operator and may not be copied or used without permission.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time by contacting us (see Section 15). We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, at our reasonable discretion.

13. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

14. Limitation of Liability

This section describes, as specifically as we can, what School Circle Network is and is not responsible for. Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (for example, liability for our own gross negligence, willful misconduct, or fraud, or a consumer right that cannot be waived).

14.1 Content posted by members and organizations

Schools, PTOs, districts, teams, and businesses on School Circle Network are managed by their own volunteers, staff, or owners — not by us. We do not independently verify, and are not responsible for, the accuracy, legality, or appropriateness of news posts, event details, forum posts, reviews, business listings, forms, or any other content a member or organization publishes.

14.2 Photos, videos, and other uploaded media

Media galleries and similar features are populated by the school/PTO/district/team manager(s) responsible for that page, not by School Circle Network. Whoever uploads a photo or video is solely responsible for having the right to post it and for obtaining any consent (for example, a parent's consent to a photo depicting their child) that the situation requires — School Circle Network does not review uploaded media for consent before it's posted, and does not track or verify consent on any organization's behalf. If you believe a specific photo or video should not have been posted, contact us or the organization that posted it — see Section 15.

14.3 In-person events and volunteer activities

School Circle Network is a place to list events, coordinate volunteer sign-ups, and share information about them — we do not organize, staff, supervise, or insure any real-world event, activity, practice, game, or volunteer shift. We are not responsible for anything that happens at, or in connection with, an in-person event or activity you learn about or sign up for through the Service, including injury, property damage, or any other incident. The school, PTO, team, or organizer running that event is responsible for it.

14.4 Payments, donations, memberships, and the PTO Shop

All payments are processed directly by Stripe and/or PayPal on their own platforms; School Circle Network does not take a percentage of membership dues, donations, event tickets, or PTO Shop purchases, and does not hold or control those funds at any point. We are not responsible for how a PTO, school, team, or organizer uses funds it collects, for its refund decisions, or for any dispute about a payment, membership, donation, or order — those are between you and the organization or business you paid. We are not a party to, and are not responsible for, any transaction between a member and a business listed in the Business Directory.

14.5 Third-party services and embedded content

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, security, or practices of Stripe, PayPal, OneSignal, Google Maps, Amazon, Cloudflare, or any embedded YouTube/Vimeo/TikTok/X/Instagram/Facebook content — each is governed by that provider's own terms, not ours.

14.6 Service availability and data

We take reasonable measures to keep the Service available and your data intact, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access and are not liable for downtime, data loss, or interruption beyond our reasonable control.

14.7 Overall limit

To the fullest extent permitted by law, School Circle Network and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) $100, or (b) the amount you personally paid directly to School Circle Network (not to a PTO, school, team, district, or business through the Service) in the 12 months before the claim arose.

15. Governing Law & Contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the site operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer-protection law provides otherwise. Questions about these Terms? Email marciab80@gmail.com or use our Contact page.
